Have your tastebuds blast off into a fusion of flavor...

Hey guys! Here is my first restaurant review!! This place is called Galactic Pizza. Its a great little pizza parlor in uptown Minneapolis. They use all biodegradable/recyclable items and use only organic Minnesotan grown ingredients. The best part is that they deliver in electric run cars, dressed in super hero outfits! Yeah pretty awesome. They also donate 5% of their profit to charity. Make sure to check this place out!

 The Paul Bunyan = Amazing!
Description: This is a very special pizza. The first of its kind. All of the toppings have been selected based on the fact that they are native to the Minnesota ecosystem, giving it a unique flavor that is truly Minnesotan. It starts with our home-made tomato sauce, topped with mozzarella cheese, morel mushrooms, wild rice, and free range bison sausage.

Time for dessert: French Meadow Hemp Brownies
Description: Rich chocolate brownies with a hemp explosion. The chocolate might give you a buzz, but the hemp won't.

Over all, Eric and I give Galactic Pizza 5/5 stars! It was an amazing experience and I would love to go there again. It has atmosphere, culture, and amazing food. This is a destination everyone should put on their maps.

Happy Soaring!!!

je t'aime

Happy Valentines Day! I invite you all to grab a sweet treat with your sweetheart and snuggle up to watch a movie. Or if the weather is nice (it is here!) then go for a stroll and make a snowman. I know Eric and I are going to grab a quick bite to eat at Annies. Amazing little restaurant with great fries and malts. P.S. if you go there get the 1/2 order of fries. Trust me.

Some great news: "Bakerella" is coming to Minneapolis!
Here is her site!
 Minneapolis (Edina) | Sunday, February 27, 2011
Williams Sonoma at Edina Galleria Mall
3512 Galleria
Edina, MN 55435
1-3 p.m.

I would really like to go and see how a pro does it. Make sure to mark it on your calendar's if you are able to attend! Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Interesting fact: In the Middle Ages young men and women drew the names from a bowl to see who would be their Valentine. They would wear this name pinned on their sleeves for one week. This was done so that it becomes easy for other people to know your true feelings. This was known as "to wear your heart on your sleeve".

Au Revoir!

Bella Notte

Valentine's Day is around the corner (2 Days!). Wow that was fast! Everyone is going to be snuggling up to their sweetheart and saying thank you for putting up with me for so long. I plan to lay low since it is a school day and I have tests galore coming up. But I did manage to make a little treat and presents for the best boyfriend in the world. I made Eric some "Whatever You Have Laying Around Muffins". On this occasion, they turned out to be banana bread muffins. Amazingly delicious. Here is the recipe:

Banana Bread Muffins
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
2 cups flour
pinch of salt
1/2 cup canola oil (veggie works too)
3 B-A-N-A-N-A-S (mashed or chunky, whatever you prefer)
1 teaspoon baking soda
a splash of vanilla
if you want...chopped up dark chocolate (or bittersweet/milk/white/none)
and a dash of cinnamon
(you can also put nuts in it, I don't like nuts so i didn't)

Directions!
1. preheat oven to 350 F
2. cream sugar, oil, vanilla, and egg first
3. add bananas
3. add salt, flour, and baking soda until silky smooth
4. grease muffin tin (i put some oatmeal on top of the batter to make it look pretty) and bake for 25-30 minutes (this can very depending on your oven, just keep an eye on them)
5. Viola! enjoy deliciousness and give yourself a pat on the back!!

They are easy and simple to make, it only takes about 45 min to make total, so just pump up the music and put on a concert for your romantic other while you make them a treat that will melt their heart. Trust me, girls loved to be made dinner (and don't make them do the dishes), so think about staying close to home this valentine's!

Ciao!

The Skyscraper Out My Window...

Finally it is Spring semester, and I have returned to the beautiful twin cities. I have taken a lighter course load (to study for the mcat) and to hopefully commit more time to the upkeep of the blog. Good news: my birthday, valentines day, and Eric and my anniversary are coming up! This means new restaurants to explore!

Some of the restaurants that we have gone to but I have not had the time to write about yet: Galatic Pizza, Melting Pot, Hells Kitchen, The Weinery, The 58 Club, and many more. I just have to find my pictures and notes... :$

More news: the superbowl is this next coming sunday! Packers vs Steelers. I hope it will be a good game. I am making bacon wrapped water chesnuts, pigs in a blanket, and raspberry pound cake for the occasion. Maybe trail mix or chicken legs or sloppy joes too. It is always difficult to make Eric eat healthy, especially during a football game.

I will have to make a grocery list sometime this week. It will be difficult be cause the Gophers are playing #1 ranked Ohio State on Sunday also. I am just praying that I will live through the weekend.
